1. Clinical Scope & Collective Nature

AKARETSA is presented as a mental health practice in Bryanston, Johannesburg. Care is provided within the regulatory framework that applies to healthcare practitioners in South Africa.

These terms govern your interaction with the practice when you enquire about appointments or clinical care.

2. Appointments & Intake

To begin, you may be asked to share your contact information and a brief outline of why you are seeking care so the practice can guide your next steps.

Appointment confirmations and practical updates are shared directly by the practice.

3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact the practice as early as possible. Where possible, provide at least 24 business hours' notice.

4. Administrative Communication

The practice may use the contact details you provide to coordinate appointment enquiries, intake information, and practical communication before care begins.

If you have administrative questions, the practice will address them directly during the enquiry process.

6. Limits of Confidentiality

All conversations and records are treated with clinical confidentiality, protected under ethical codes and POPIA. However, under applicable South African law, there are rare exceptions where confidentiality may need to be broken.

• If there is a clear, imminent risk of harm to yourself or others.
• In cases of suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children or vulnerable adults.
• If the practice is legally served with a court order or subpoena requiring the disclosure of clinical files.
